Simon attended Sophomore Orientation at his new high school, George Ranch High School. He met lots of new friends and the school staff and had an opportunity to become comfortable in his new surroundings.
We are so thrilled to announce the arrival of Simon Nohl to America! Simon will be staying with us this year as an exchange student. We already have the pleasure of knowing the Nohl family. If you recall, Simon’s older brother, Chris, stayed with us in 2008 and 2009. Simon and Chris came back for a visit at the end of 2009, which was a lot of fun. We are so blessed to be hosting Simon this year and look forward to his time in America. Thank you, Uschi and Ulf, for entrusting us with your children! The pictures below are from the airport when Simon arrived here.
Well, we had a great time having Chris and Simon here over the past couple of weeks. It was great to catch up with Chris and meet Simon for the first time. They had a very busy schedule trying to get everything in that they had planned, but I think they had a great time. We look forward to maybe seeing Simon here as an exchange student soon! Love you guys! Thank you Ulf and Uschi for sharing your kids with us. They are AWESOME!!!
Connie, Chris and Simon went to hang out with Chase and Nicole, who were in town from Tennessee. They grabbed a bite at Pappadeaux’s (Chris’ favorite American seafood place) and then went over to Chase’s mom’s house to hang out, swim, play guitars and have fun.
I took Chris, Simon, Adam, Aaron and Morgan (Chris’ high school friend) to the Kemah Boardwalk and to Galveston today. We ate at Landry’s, and then went down to Stewart Beach. It was a little cool, but that didn’t stop them from getting into the water. We hung out, played football and admired the scenery… In fact, a group of young ladies wrote Chris a nice note in the sand next to where we had our stuff… You can see it in the pictures. Suffice it to say, they were a bit smitten by him!
