Today, Connie took Yoko to pick up school transcript, toured Richmond, including Morton Cemetery, where Mirabeau Lamar (father of Texas) and Jane Long (mother of Texas) are buried. They ate at Subway with the kids and then went to the Downtown Houston tunnel system and observation deck of JP Morgan Chase building. They ended up at Hermann Park where kids decided to get completely soaked in the water park, with their shoes on, so Connie had to buy new shoes on the way home. She was exhausted from a long day, but they had a lot of fun!
We only have 4 days before Yoko leaves to go back to Japan. She wanted to share some Japanese culture with us, so Connie, Yoko, Abbey, Aidan and Ainsley went to the Japanese grocery store, Nippan Daido, where the kids all picked out some Japanese treats. They were yummy! We then headed off to the waterwall near Williams Bros. Tower and hung out and played. That evening, Connie and Yoko picked up Stacey and went to Thai Pepper and ate some yummy Thai food and fried bananas and coconut ice cream for dessert. Afterwards, they went to Edward’s Cinema to see Letters to Julia. It was a fun day! Here is some video at the water wall and pictures from the day.
Over Spring Break, Connie took the kids to Brenham to see the Bluebell Ice Cream creamery.
Over Spring Break, Connie took the kids to see the San Jacinto Monument and tour the Battleship Texas.
The kids had Valentine’s Day parties in their classrooms…
