We have a new niece!! We would like to welcome Victoria Lee Ferguson, born on June 30th at 7 pounds and 20 inches long. Congrats Michael and Amanda. Here is a picture of the proud aunt with Tori!
Connie achieved a huge goal by participating in and finishing the 12th annual Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Mini Triathlon at the First Colony Aquatic Center. It was a 300 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride and a 3 mile run. She finished it under the time limit as the kids sprinted with her across the finish line. She had trained hard for this event. We are so proud of her!!!
On June 25th, my grandmother, Roberta “Granny” McGee, went to be with the Lord. Granny lived a full life of almost 89 years and she was a beautiful, energetic woman who made an impact on everyone who met her. I had an opportunity to visit with her this past Monday. We talked about my family and her preparation for this time. More importantly, we discussed her legacy, which culminates into 4 generations of grand kids who love her very much. She was a teacher, and she had the opportunity to teach and impact generations of kids. We will miss her, but know that God is smiling on her as she was a “good and faithful servant” while she was here. You can read her obituary here.
Connie and the girls recently had a picnic and, on another day, hung out at Chuck E Cheese.. kind of a “girls day out” thing. Video and pictures below.
Father’s Day… wow! If there is one responsibility that I have been given that just scares the bejeebers out of me, it is being a father. I have been blessed with a wonderful family; a beautiful wife who is the most awesome mother I know and 7 kids, that have challenged me at times, but have blessed me and really helped me form up the meaning of “Daddy”. Connie, I love you and know that I am a pain in the tail to deal with. Thank you for your virtue and patience. Stacey and Nicole, I love you and thank you for not only preparing me to parent the younger 5, but for putting up with all of my mistakes along the way and being the beautiful, independent women that you are. Adam, Aaron, Abbey, Aidan and Ainsley, I love you and want you to know that, along with Stacey and Nicole, you have been a true blessing to me. Chris, thank you for letting me be your Dad for a year and allowing me the privilege of parenting such a well rounded and independent young man.
