Yesterday, we hung out at Grandma and Grandpa Rabalais’ house. I didn’t realize how long it had been since we had gotten together. All of Connie’s sisters, except for 1, were there, along with many other family and friends. We had some great food, played volleyball and football and just had a real good time relaxing and visiting. I tried to hang with the kids in volleyball and football and my body is REGRETTING it today… I am so sore!!! The weather was beautiful and we all had a really great time! Click the pic below to see the pictures that we took.
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Janet (Jan) Anne Kirkpatrick went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Jan moved with her family to Texas in 1974. She worked as a pastoral assistant and spiritual director at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish for the last 18 Years. Jan was a very kind and gentle person who touched the lives and hearts of everyone she loved. Survived by her loving husband Robert; her children, Michael and Renee, Don and Connie, Patrisha, Dave and Sara, Marc and Anne, and Mike and Mary; and her 11 grandchildren.
Here are Don’s thoughts from an earlier post.

We went to Guitar Center in Houston in search for a bass for Chris. We spent a couple of hours there and Chris made a great find. He found a used German made Warwick fretless bass. It must have been very gently used, as it looks brand new. It has a beautiful solid wood body; awesome craftsmanship and very high quality. On top of that, we met an interesting new friend at Guitar Center, an older gentleman named Walt. After Chris made his decision to purchase the bass, he asked Adam to hold it for him. Adam set it down and Walt picked it up and started playing it. After Chris finished selecting his other accessories, I went to Walt and told him that Chris was buying the bass. Jokingly, he said that he was going to buy it, but very graciously handed it over. Walt knew one of salesmen at Guitar Center, so he hooked us up with John, who proceeded to give Chris a 15% discount on the bass. AWESOME!!! Good to know the right people, or in this case, bump into the right people… Check out the video of Chris with his new bass. You will have to excuse the kid’s screaming in the background… It was just one of those days!!! ;-)
We celebrated Chris’ 17th birthday together. What a fun time. Chris and Connie went out and did some shopping for some new clothes (check out his blog for pics) and he got a new Blackberry Curve… sweet! Grandpa and Grandma McGee came over to join us as we celebrated with cake and ice cream. We are so happy to have Chris with us this year and he really seems to be enjoying himself also.
